Entrepreneur magazine’s July issue includes its 7th annual listing of the VC100, the top venture capital firms for entrepreneurs. The VC100 includes listing of venture capital firms for early stage companies and later stage companies. Plus you can search by state. Here are the number of VC100 firms in New England:
- 38 VC firms in Massachusetts
- 5 VC firms in Connecticut
- 1 VC firm in Vermont
- 1 VC firm in New Hampshire
- 1 VC firm in Rhode Island
- 1 VC firm in Maine
I see a lot of startup firms in my business. Some succeed, many fail. The top two reasons they fail are (1) lack of commitment to the idea by the founders and (2) lack of venture capital. And number two is a distant second.
