* Drawing That Settles The Over-Under Toilet Paper Debate

17 Seconds #97. Useful Info Quickly.

Just as there is debate about how to pronounce the ‘GIF’ file format (https://time.com/5791028/how-to-pronounce-gif/), there is debate about whether toilet paper should be dispensed from over the top of the roll or from under the bottom of the roll.

The first patent related to toilet paper in the United States was patent 465,588, issued to Seth Wheeler on 1891-12-22 (https://patents.google.com/patent/US465588A/en).

Patent 465,588 clearly, plainly, and unambiguously answers the question. Toilet paper should be dispensed from over the top of the roll.

I trust that this ends the toilet paper debate.

Also, hard “G” as in “Graphics Interchange Format.”
