* Book Review: Nineteen Eighty-Four

By George Orwell.

“Nineteen Eighty-Four” by George Orwell.

In George Orwell’s classic book Nineteen Eighty-Four (sometimes called “1984”), Winston Smith struggles to cope as a member of the Party where Big Brother sees and knows all and where the past is rewritten to create a fictitious present.

“Oceania has always been at war with Eastasia.”

But you don’t have to read “Nineteen Eighty-Four” to see revisionist history in action. All you have to do is read the Freakonomics blog.

Now you see it.

Now you don’t.

    Thanks for the link to the Freakonomics Blog.
    It is ironic, I just came across 1984, a few weeks ago, as I was cleaning out a room.
    I took a break and read the book in a few hours. I forgot how captivating the story
    was. It had been years, since I picked it up. Interesting how timeless this classic is.
    After all this time, the bookis still relevant. Thanks for mentioning this great classic
    to your readers. You always manage to give excellent nuggets of wisdom in all of your blog
    posts. Thanks, I always enjoy your posts… Juliet http://www.whistleblowerlawblog.com
